Rob is a freelance trumpet performer, arranger and conductor in the Los Angeles area. Schaer began performing on the streets of Disney World in Orlando, Florida when he was 17 years old. Mr. Schaer finished a Doctorate in Musical Arts in 2008 from the University of Southern California. Schaer has been influenced by many great teachers including: John Almeida, Don Green, Boyde Hood, Wayne Bergeron, Charley Davis and Bobby Shew.

To date, Rob has many recording credits to his name including several big band albums and television/motion picture soundtracks. Mr. Schaer has had the privilege of performing and/or recording with a wide variety of artists such as Clare Fisher, John Williams, Paul Anka, Patti Austin, Frankie Valli, Frank Sinatra Jr, Dancing with the Stars, Family Guy, American Dad, The Cleveland Show, The Los Angeles Philharmonic w/Gustavo Dudamel (including the US Tour 2010 and The Mahler Project 2012 in Venezuela), America’s Got Talent, The GRAMMY Awards and The 82nd Annual Academy Awards.

Rob has arranged and conducted for many projects both in and outside of Los Angeles. He continues to work as a clinician for high school band programs around the country.
